MATERIAL AND CARE

The following applies to every product: take care of it with love and you can enjoy it longer.

Our jewelry is made of different types of materials. Here we give you more information about the materials and how to keep it beautiful for as long as possible.

stainless steel
Most of our jewelry clasps are made of stainless steel, which applies to both the gold and silver clasps. All stainless steel closures are durable and of high quality. The advantage of stainless steel is that, with careful use, it retains its color for a long time. Pay extra attention to chlorine, because chlorine affects the protective layer of the stainless steel.

Glass beads / seed beads
The glass beads, also called seed beads, that we use for our jewelry are of high quality. They can take a beating and perspiration, but to prevent discoloration, we recommend not showering or swimming with them. The gold and silver colored beads contain a layer with gold/silver plating. Over time, the plating may wear and the clear glass bead beneath the coating will become visible. This process is accelerated when in contact with water and contact with creams and perfume.

Sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver
All our earrings have the same base. The base is 925 sterling silver, the best quality for silver jewelry. Gold plating is a layer of gold applied over a 925 sterling silver base. We work with an 18-karat gold plating. Both sterling silver and gold plated jewelry can fade after long wear. How quickly this happens and to what extent depends on a number of factors:

  • Contact with water, moisture, perfume and creams can lead to discoloration.
  • Prolonged exposure to oxygen and sunlight can lead to oxidation, which eventually causes jewelry to become dull or black.
  • The acidity of the skin, which differs per person, can affect the material, causing jewelry to discolour.
